Who writes here
Eleanor Hale is the pen name used by the Home Lifes editorial team. We use one byline so the site has a consistent voice; behind it are people who cook at home every day and care about buying things once.
How we choose what to recommend
- We start from a real problem — a pan that sticks, a knife that tears — and explain the cause before suggesting anything to buy.
- We research manufacturers’ specifications, independent UK reviews and owner feedback. Unless an article says so explicitly, we have not personally tested the products we mention. When we have used something ourselves, we’ll say so and show our own photos.
- We include a “skip it if” for every product, because no product suits everyone.
- We don’t accept payment for placement, and we don’t publish prices that may be out of date.
